Knowing land border wait times at the various ports of entry into the United States from both Canada and Mexico can aid the traveler in making an informed decision on when and where to cross the border. The U.S. Customs and Border Protections Border Wait Time (BWT) app provides estimated wait times and open lane status 24/7 at ports of entry that process commercial vehicles, passenger vehicles, and pedestrians. The BWT app breaks down wait times at each crossing by lane type (Standard, Sentri, FAST, Ready Lane, Nexus, etc.). The BWT app is a free service provided by the Department of Homeland Security/U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

This app is completely useless. Times provided are not based on reality. App says <10 minutes...been here for over an hour.

Inaccurate timing.
Horrible app. Pointless to use. Went to Tijuana to pick up family at the airport. Used the app to see which was quicker, San Ysidro or Otay. One said 55min wait the other 75min. I sat at the San Ysidro border for 3 1/2 hours or in other words over 210minutes not no 55 minutes. If I could give it no stars I would.

Grossly inaccurate wait times!
Drove across the Peace Bridge (Buffalo) and back on same day. Planned our trip around rush hour. Both times the App was showing under 10 minute delays. Was 50 over and 45 back. Updates to the app were over 5 hours old. This day in age updates should be instantaneous and pushed to the apps. We have the technology!

Nice App
I really like this app because it is easier to use than their border wait times website on my phone. One suggestion would be to straight out display vehicle and pedestrian crossing times instead of having to click on the box to reveal. That extra step is unnecessary and gets annoying after a while.
